First off, the irony is overwhelming how this article directly contrasts the article on reality TV and art being two of the same.

To the point though I would say that it wouldn't hurt America to air Artstar, I think that it would almost help in the sense that it might get a good reputation and exposure for artists trying to make a name for themselves. Thats just my opinion though..

In my opinion, yes tv is ruining the art world. Its becoming more a sitcom for someone to laugh at, then what it truly is. People could care less about the art produced they just want to see people fail. They dont care if they make beautiful art, they just like to laugh at them when they get destroyed by the panel of so called "judges" on stage. This is the kind of stuff that makes me not watch T.V. anymore.

i think that having art in reality tv is a good idea because it meets the eye of every artistic view in general. its pretty cool. and i think that artistic people will actually have a reason to watch tv, because it is something that is interesting. if your meeting everyones interest its obviously going to be a hit.

America is and has been ready for really any type of show. But I do not think ArtStar will bring down and ruin tv and art simply because I do not think anyone will take it seriously. It seems to much of a broadly based show to be seen as truly representative of art. This is unlike Project Runway which is specific based on fashion art and design and can accurately portray thus said art.
