The arts are an even better barometer of what is happening in our world than the stock market or the debates in congress. - Hendrik Willem Van Loon

First off, the irony is overwhelming how this article directly contrasts the article on reality TV and art being two of the same.

To the point though I would say that it wouldn't hurt America to air Artstar, I think that it would almost help in the sense that it might get a good reputation and exposure for artists trying to make a name for themselves. Thats just my opinion though..

This by far is one of the coolest art forms out there, at least that I have seen. It's interesting how such amazing images can be projected on building walls etc., especially of the size! I think that this medium is truly one of the best.

you have surely made an interesting point. I would tend to say that there is not a direct comparison between reality TV and art. I can agree with the fact that art has sucessfully been integrated into the show, but overall I would side with the fact that there is a distinct contrast between reality television and art.

wow what a great art form! I can see what a challenge this might be, especially trying to get the sand to hold in one place. I cant imagine how much time it took these talented artists to create this work!

i would not reaaly call this an art show because it is more about helping families however the design aspect is interesting...i would agree with josh though and not really consider it an "art show"

This is so cool. That sounds like so much fun to be able to throw light magnets to a wall and have them stick a glow. how long do these glow things last?

Sand art can be freaking sweet. I love when it is very large and complex and helps tell a story.
